Mountain Town Magazine Holiday Feature

The idea of Mountain Tide Provision Co. was always a dream in the back of our minds. Whenever my daughter and I would go into our favorite surf shop we would talk endlessly about how well something like that would do in the mountains. We both love the beach and the mountains, and grew up pursuing passions in both places. There is a synergy and cultural alignment between the mountains and the coast, and all the pursuits and ways for one to explore them.

It was on a spring break trip to Florida to ride horses that my daughter and I started to seriously concept the brand together, the name, it's mission, what a new retail experience could look like, the brand mix, and the reason 'why'. We could see it in our minds, the need that it would fill, and it's larger purpose of giving back, and playing a small part in the making of memories from the mountains to the coast.

For us it was all about the memories we created together on the ski hill, at the beach, or in the water and shaping that in a way that brings value to our communities through a very cool store.

Mountain Tide Provision Co. then became a reality. It is so cool to build a brand and store from nothing to something meaningful, and even more special to do it with your child. It has truly been a team effort with countless conversations in the car, on walks, and at the dinner table.

Sage then took it one step further and for her senior capstone project took on the challenge of crafting a PR package and doing social media for Mountain Tide Provision Co.

The article below by Julie Bielenberg is the first article that is a direct result of her senior capstone. Please enjoy. I am so proud of Sage and thank you Julie for writing about our vision.

Good Begins Here.
