In the western part of the state, there is a remarkable desert landscape filled with immense canyons, fascinating rock formations, and ancient ruins. In the east, an endless expanse of rolling plains is interspersed with buttes, mesas, and colorful badlands. Rising between these two disparate landscapes are the towering peaks of the Rocky Mountains, which harbor innumerable lakes, rivers, and waterfalls. Grant Collier has photographed this landscape through all of the changing seasons. He has captured images at sunrise and sunset, when warm light kisses the tops of mountain peaks and the clouds come alive with color. He has stayed up deep into the night to photograph the landscape beneath stars, planets, meteors, and comets. He also has flown high above the land to capture the scenery from a captivating new perspective.
